The short version
Your logbook is yours. Volandi stores it so it can sync between your devices and back it up. It isn't sold, shared for advertising, or used to train anything. The app has no ads and no analytics trackers.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and name. Your password is stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form.
- Your logbook: the flights, aircraft, approaches, crew, custom fields and photos you enter or import.
- Shift data: while a shift is running, the ADS-B positions reported for the aircraft you chose. Raw positions are deleted after 14 days; the simplified flight path stays on the logbook entry it belongs to.
- Backups of your logbook, made monthly and whenever you ask for one.
Where it lives
Everything is hosted on Cloudflare (its database, file storage and servers). A copy of your logbook is also kept on each device you sign in on, so the app works offline. Signing out removes it from that device.
Who else sees anything
- ADS-B feed (adsb.lol): during a shift, Volandi asks for the current position of your aircraft's transponder code. Only the aircraft's code is sent; your name and account are not.
- Map tiles (OpenFreeMap, Esri): when you view a map, your device loads map images from these services, as any web map does.
That's the whole list. Nothing about you is shared with anyone else.
Your choices
- Download your whole logbook any time from More → Backups, as a PDF or CSV.
- To delete your account and everything in it, email info@arsvolandi.com from your account's address. It's done within 30 days, including backups.
